Running has been for a lot of us a well approved, advertised and practiced tool to keep our muscles toned, our heart young and our mind clear. The potential of this tool has been compromised for some of us through knee pain, foot pain or a lost lightness, taking a piece out of that joy of running.
What are we doing in this retreat is putting new life giving energy into this regular but ever so special activity. We are doing this by explaining, unlocking and reinvigorating the suspension system of our beautiful human bodies, discovering our balance points in action and by curiously opening the neurological feedback loops, that made learning how to run possible at the first place. Going for a run after and during the retreat will be like putting breathing, the interaction of feet with the ground and swing of your arms to a lovely dance.
Every runner is coming with a different history and set of habits. A somatic education approach, a carefully designed awareness training, guided by the principles of Moshe Feldenkrais, will truly retune your brain to rediscover your perfect stride and experience the weightlessness, that we were gifted by our human design.
All this will be happening in the most beautiful environment. We will be running trails to die for. Lodging will be just a mile out of Salida, Colorado, an authentic, historic mountain town in the Colorado Rockies, surrounded by mountains, that reach above 14,000 feet, with a river running through, giving the high desert environment some sense of lushness and fresh growth.
